Seminars - Staff Training 2017

Taking into consideration the constant training of her staff, Ms Miranta Merkouri, the Director of the European Center for Language Studies, organized once again this year an educational Seminar at the language school on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. 

For this purpose, Ms Vivi Kamari, Marketing and Promotion Manager with Grivas Publications and Ms Lyn Clark, ELT Representative with Grivas Publications as well were recruited to Pirgos, and they presented the new material of the publishing company, suggested enhanced teaching methods, and exchanged opinions regarding the methodology applied at the language center for foreign language learning and the software used for interactive whiteboards.

The academic coordinator of the Hellenic American Union in Athens, Greece Mr Nikos Fragkos was invited on Thursday, 2 February 2017 to the European Center for Language Studies by Ms Miranta Merkouri to conduct an in-service training of her staff and a mock speaking Test with her students.

The content of Mr Fragkos’s presentation was geared towards the FCE for Schools (Cambridge) and the ECCE (Michigan) examinations students were to take in May 2017. At first, Mr Fragkos analysed the stages and the duration of each examination, and then he had students perform a Mock Test on each examination, assessing their performance after completion of each stage.

The seminar lasted 2 hours and the experience of Mr Fragkos as an examiner of both examinations, his knowledge of the topic presented, and the friendly atmosphere he created were very useful to all participants.
