The respectable activity in the field of her business is the best reward for her priceless work. The respect and love towards the children with her proper teaching has won her much praise from parents and students. Mrs. Miranta Merkouri has inexhaustible initiatives.
One of them is the educational seminars for foreign language teachers for the year that has come. For this reason a 20-hour seminar was programmed and contained methodology lessons and fathoming into the evolution of the English language.
The thematic units covered were grammar teaching, essay writing, reading, writing, and acoustic comprehension, phonology, lesson planning, visual material, and techniques dealing with teenagers. The organiser and presenter of the seminar was Mr. Oliver Sandon (BA, Dip RSA), the Director of the educational organisation "TLS Patras" in Patras. Mr. Sandon with his experience as a teacher trainer in the UK, Spain, the USA, China, and Greece, his constant cooperation with the British Council, the International House of London and the Pilgrim’s in Canterbury, created the prerequisites for the staff of Mrs. Merkouri to start the new educational year with strength and enthusiasm for their jobs. There wil be teacher observations with model teaching during the year.
The initiatives by Mrs, Miranta Merkouri never end, just as her love, interest, and respect for children never stops.
The European Center for Language Studies – Miranta Merkouri is an achievement inspired by Miranta Merkouri, who after lengthy studies and a professional career, domestically and abroad, returns dynamically in 1991 to the place of her descent, Pirgos of the Ilia prefecture, to fulfill her goals: to offer her knowledge and extensive experience in the field of foreign language education.
